Meet Fluent: the first social media magazine born & bred in New York City.

Created by former lifestyle editors and girls who "just get it,” Fluent is infused with deliciously unfiltered opinions drawn from our POV + the POV of your favorite influencers and online personalities. 

A crossover between magazine storytelling and social media influencer culture, Fluent represents the body of social media with the heart and soul of editorial. 

What does that mean exactly? Fluent delivers exclusive lifestyle content in a traditional editorial format, but with a few twists. We call this inFLUENTcer journalism.

  1. Our voice is heavily "social media-coded." AKA, we often say things like “Ref understood the assignment” or “2:00 am Prince Street hits different.” Our content is written in language you are fluent in. 

  2. Get access to your favorite online creators in ways you’ve never seen before. Through a mix of Q&A’s, exclusive profiles & influencer-curated recs, we rely on the personalities you know and love to help tell our story. 

  3. We’re real people... just like you. When we’re not at fashion week or attending a hot new restaurant opening, we’re trying to sneak past the Paul’s bouncer and waiting for “Jack Hinge” to text us back. Trust us, we know what's up.

When everybody dressed up as Queen Elizabeth or Abraham Lincoln for the eighth-grade “wax museum,” Amy gallivanted around the Dwight Englewood auditorium as Anna Wintour. When all her friends went to summer camp, Amy enrolled herself in a FIT course about magazine journalism. When everybody was attending football games & formals, Amy was helping spearhead the Michigan Fashion Media Summit—the first fashion business organization on campus.

 

At the ripe age of 22, Amy landed the role of Senior Digital Editor of New York at Modern Luxury. Little did she know that front row at New York Fashion Week, endless club & restaurant openings and interviews with some of the biggest names in the lifestyle space, Danielle Bernstein, Serena Kerrigan and Melissa Wood-Tepperberg, to name a few, would be in her future.

As a journalism graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication, Sarah made a promise to the written word and has kept her vow since.

 

After a fellowship at online media company Insider, Inc. and features in Elite Daily, Boston Herald and The Boston Globe, Sarah landed the role of Senior Digital Editor of Miami at Modern Luxury. Since then, she’s covered and curated exclusive food and beverage, nightlife and hospitality content and has attended some of the hottest cultural happenings in the Miami event circuit—Art Basel, F1 and Miami Swim Week are just a few.

 

It’s been a wild ride in the 305; however, she’s ready to return to her northeast roots with a uniquely Miami-takes-New York flair… and emphasis on New York as the OG hot spot. She’s back and better than ever.
