One week you’re trading your soul for a table at an above-average Italian spot, the next it’s giving cheugy with a side of “it’s good, but like… not cute enough to post.”
You’re in New York for 24 hours (likely hopping between Aspen and Miami), so the question isn’t just where to eat—it’s who to trust. Enter: Two Sauced. The sister duo with a dirty martini habit, global food fluency and the kind of recs that make locals side-eye in silent respect.
With backgrounds in media and content strategy, Lizzie & Catherine Everett have spent years telling stories, building brands, and yes, eating very well.
Their niche? Finding restaurants that are cool-girl coded and worth the check. No clout-chasing, no TikTok bait, no “speakeasies” behind a kombucha fridge.
From low-key staples to tables that require at least one “I know someone,” these are the places the girls visit every time they’re in New York (aka where you should book a res immediately if not sooner).
Disagree? How cliché. That’s how you know it’s an NYC list.
BONDST (NoHo)
One of our longtime sushi go-tos with a warm, minimal vibe. Sitting at the sushi bar is a must—order the Tuna Crispy Rice, Szechuan Yellowtail Sashimi, and Big Eye Tuna Tarts. You really can’t go wrong with any yellowtail, tuna, or salmon rolls. It’s perfect for date night or catching up with friends in a cozy setting.
Sant Ambroeus
The chicest coffee or lunch stop, hands down. Their Italian coffee and iced lattes are unmatched. Gelato and princess cake are always on our list. Sit at the coffee bar for a little people-watching or grab a table—maybe even next to a celeb. (Lenny Kravitz sighting, just saying.)
Chinese Tuxedo (Chinatown)
Tucked away in Chinatown, this spot nails the refined-meets-modern vibe. The dim sum is next-level—don’t skip the dumplings. The space is sleek but still warm, and the food blends traditional Chinese flavors with a modern twist.
Los Tacos No.1
Fast, flavorful, and always a must. We go for the Carne Asada and Pollo Asado tacos—and always grab chips and guac on the side. It’s simple, authentic, and consistently perfect.
12 Matcha
Our favorite matcha in the city, no contest. Each drink is handcrafted right in front of you. The matcha ice cream? Unreal. Whether it’s your morning caffeine fix or a midday treat, it’s as photogenic as it is delicious.
Tompkins Square Bagels
This is our ride-or-die bagel spot. We’re all about the sesame lox bagel with tomato, cucumber, red onion, capers, and scallion cream cheese. Or a bacon, egg & cheese on everything. Sometimes we keep it simple with just scallion cream cheese. Every time, it hits.
Joe’s Pizza
An NYC classic. Thin, cheesy, and iconic. If it’s your first time in the city—or your fiftieth—you still have to grab a slice.
Balthazar (SoHo)
Our go-to after a SoHo shopping day. Steak frites, French onion soup, and a martini is our power trio. But don’t leave without dessert—the profiteroles are a dream.
Parm
When Carbone’s booked (always), we head to Parm. Same team, just more laid-back. Get the pesto arancini, mozz sticks, and go all in on the chicken parm and rigatoni Carbone with spicy vodka sauce. Cannolis to close, obviously.
Torrisi
Low lighting, intimate vibes, and some of the best pasta around. The tortellini is our favorite. It’s tough to get a reservation, but walking in around 8 or 9 p.m. usually works. Worth the wait every time.
Little Ruby’s Café
Bright, relaxed, and always solid for breakfast or lunch. We’re fans of the avo toast, breakfast sandwiches, and banana bread. It’s a great anytime stop with feel-good food.
Pastis
Forever a classic. We love sitting at the bar for burgers and fries—honestly one of our favorite burgers anywhere. Also great for oysters, steak frites, and crispy artichokes. Always buzzing, always good.
Kin Ramen (Midtown)
Our ramen favorite in the city. Cozy and low-key with homemade broth that’s rich and flavorful. This is the ultimate comfort meal, especially on a cold day.
