You won’t be the only one not training for a marathon at these run clubs.

Some of us aren’t stalking Strava to beat our stats — we’re just sick of doom-swiping Hinge and have resorted to the second most popular means of meeting people. Our run times are well into the double-digits, and real runners likely hate to know us as much as we hate to be us.
But, in NYC, there’s a run club for every type of runner, even the kind who is solely running to happy hour (exclusively wearing Alo).
On the other hand, we live in the city. If incorporating movement outside of the confines of an indoor gym is a priority to you, you’ve likely converted to running already whether you like it or not.
The following run clubs are all about the social, pace-friendly vibes, while still making for great training runs and endorphin boosts.
Founded by Rachael Lansing and Steve Cole, you’ve probably seen Lunge Run Club pop up on your IG or TikTok feed. Or alternatively, you’ve seen large masses of runners clad in all-black (indicating single status) somewhere around the Washington Square Arch. This is the run club to join if you’re on the prowl and a post-run happy hour/rager is equally as important to you as the run.
The message is in the name. Founded by serial marathoner @runswithmal, No More Lonely Runs welcomes all paces and running levels. They meet every Saturday at 9 a.m., alternating between Central Park (Columbus Circle) and West Side Hwy (Pier 62). Bagels and coffee await at the finish line.
